What is the world's largest crater?

First up we have the Shiva crater in the Indian Ocean west of India.

The Shiva crater is estimated to be 65 million years old and 600 kilometers by 450 kilometers across and 12 kilometers deep and created by an asteroid 40 kilometers in diameter, but it is unconfirmed as a crater.

Next up we have the Wilkes Land crater which was discovered in Antarctica via gravity measurements from space in 2006.

The Wilkes Land crater is estimated to be 250 million years old and 500 kilometers in diameter and created by an asteroid 48 kilometers in diameter, but it is also unconfirmed as a crater.

Finally there is the Vredefort crater in South Africa, the town of Vredefort is located in the crater.

The Vredefort crater is about 2 1/2 billion years old, making the the world's oldest known crater, as well as the largest confirmed crater.

The Vredefort crater is 300 kilometers across.
