When was the last mutiny hanging in the United States?
The last mutiny hanging was a United States Navy man by
the name of Midshipman Philip Spencer in 1842.
Philip Spencer was the son of the Secretary of War, John C.
Spencer.
Philip, along with two other men, plotted the mutiny to turn the ship into one of piracy,
but unluckily for him it didn't work out so well.
