Eddie Slovik.
He was tried by court-martial and sentenced to death
during World War II.
His unit, the 28th Infantry Division shot him in a
small town in northeast France. At the time of the execution, there were 69
other men along with Slovik; however, these men were executed for rape or murder
and not desertion.
