When was the last Mary Tyler Moore Show?
The last Mary Tyler Moore Show was aired on March 19,
1977. The plot consisted of the staff of WJM-TV throwing a going-away party
where everyone was fired except for Ted Baxter, a character who was not fully
competent and who would always mispronounce the names of countries that they
were talking about.
The show’s popularity was due to Mary Richards,
played by Mary Tyler Moore, who had left her hometown after ending a bad
relationship. She lands in Minnesota and begins working for a newsroom. A devout
audience followed the lives of the characters for seven years as they watched
Mary go through laughs, love, and heartache.
