When was the last Milton Berle Show?

Milton Berle will always be remembered as one of the pioneers of television. When his show first aired in the early 1950s, television was not the commodity it is today. It was something that was reserved for those that had quite a bit of money and could spare spending “frivolously.”

The actual number of television sets in American homes when Milton Berle’s first show aired was 500,000. Although this number may seem large, it’s not.

By the time the Milton Berle Show ended, over three million homes in the United States had television sets. Milton Berle was the first celebrity to experience overexposure in the media and burnout as a result because his show was so popular.
