June 19 2002 Steve Fossett, aboard the Bud Light Spirit of
Freedom, began an epic journey lasting 14 days 19 hours and 51 minutes and
covering 20,602 miles or 32,963 km, in which he became the first person to
circumnavigate the earth, solo, in a balloon.

Fossett aboard the Bud Light Spirit of Freedom launched from Northam, Austaralia
on June 19 2002 and landed at Lake Yamma Yamma, Queensland, Australia July 04.
He actually finished the circumnavigation almost a day earlier, but due to
the winds was unable to land.
