In August and September 1979 various venues in the UK gave host to the
world's longest play.
The Warp, created by Neil Oram and directed by Ken Campbell had a reported
running time of 22 hours.
The Warp is a combination of 10 shorter plays about an English mystic and his
journey through life.
The 10 plays were titled:
Russell Denton, starring as Phil Masters was on stage for all but 5 minutes of
the play.
We also managed to find the shortest play: Samuel Becket's Breath.
Using recorded sounds and light, but no actors, Breath tells the story in a mere
35 seconds of life from birth to death.
