THE WORLD'S LONGEST
NHL SHUTOUT STREAK

THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's longest NHL shutout streak?

Way back, near the end of 1927, Alec Connell of the Ottawa Senators began a shoutout streak that would continue into 1928, spanning 6 games and totalling 461 minutes, 29 seconds.

This is the longest NHL shout streak ever recorded but what made Alec's job a bit easier, the forward pass was not allowed and scoring chances were few and far between.

The longest modern day shutout streak belongs to Brian Boucher. When he played for the Phoenix Coyotes in 2003 he recorded a shutout streak that started on December 27, 2003, lasting 332 minutes and 1 second, spanning 5 games and ending in 2004.

Here for you are the 5 longest shutout streaks ever recorded:

Alec Connell Ottawa 1927 - 08 461:29
George Hainsworth Montreal 1929 343:05
Brian Boucher Phoenix 2003 - 04 332:01
