What is the world's longest anyone stayed under water?

In September 2004 Jerry Hall completed the longest scuba dive staying under water for 120 hours.

On May 01 2006 Magician David Blaine entered a big ball filled with 2,000 gallons of sea water at Lincoln Center in Manhattan, N.Y. His goal was to stay in the bubble for over a full week or emerging on May 08 2006 on a television special.

David Blain managed to set the record for staying underwater the longest by posting a soggy 177 hours.

Before he emerged David Blaine planed on removing his breathing apparatus and setting the record for the world's longest breath hold set by Tom Sietas at 8 Minutes 58 Seconds in July 2003, but came up 1 minute 50 seconds  short.
