THE WORLD'S LONGEST
LIGHTNING BOLT

THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's longest lightning bolt?

With an average of 100 lightning bolts hitting the Earth every second it's hard to imagine that the world's longest lightning bolt was recorded by Myron Ligda way back in the spring of 1956.

An average lightning bolt runs about 5 miles in length but using radar Myron measured a lightning bolt that covered an electrifying 93 miles.

There are no pictures of the world's longest lightning bolt, but since lightning is so photogenic, any picture will do.
