A normal Ironman Triathlon consists of
a 3.8 kilometer swim, a 180 kilometer bike ride and a 42.2 kilometer run, but
for some this is not enough.
It wasn't long before Double Ironman Triathlons sprung up, then triples,
quadruples, you get the drift.
In 1998 in Monterrey, Mexico a Double Deca
Ironman Triathlon was held, (that's 20x), and Vidmantas Urbonas of
Lithuania finished the race in only 437 hours 21 minutes and 40 seconds.
If you don't want to do the math,
Vidmantas Urbonas covered 76 kilometers by swimming, 3,600 kilometers on a bike
and 844 kilometers in his running shoes.
The total distance covered in the world's longest
triathlon was 4,520 kilometers.
