The world's Longest stretch of Route 66

THE WORLD'S LONGEST
STRETCH OF ROUTE 66

THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

Where is the world's longest stretch of Route 66?

We got our kicks researching this record.

Route 66, also called the Mother Road, is perhaps the most famous highway in America.

The idea of Route 66 started in 1925 with the joining of existing roads throughout America creating a route from Chicago to Los Angeles. In 1938 the final sections of the 2,400 mile long Route 66 were paved.

Unfortunately for Route 66, it winded from town to town in it's path and soon a new, more direct highway grew in it's place.

In 1984 the I-40 replaced the last sections of Route 66 near Williams, Arizona.

Since then Route 66 has been broken up and in most places is not existent.

The longest remaining intact section of Route 66 can be found in Arizona and runs from Seligman to Kingman, a total of 160 unbroken miles.
