If you find yourself chilling in the South Polar Ocean, keep an eye out for
the wandering albatross, the bird with the longest wingspan.
Spotting it should not be too difficult as from tip to tip the wings of the
wandering albatross average over 10 feet in length with a 12 foot wingspan being
not that uncommon.
There have
been unsubstantiated reports of measurements taken of wingspans exceeding 17
feet.
The wandering albatross' wingspan is up to 3 times that of it's 4.4
foot body length.
