The world's longest drawbridge opened in 1940 and crosses the Black River in in Lorain, Ohio.

Originally named the Erie Avenue Bridge it was renamed to the Charles Berry Bridge in honor of Charles J. Berry, a local Medal of Honor recipient, on Veterans Day in 1988.

The record setting span of the Charles Berry Bridge is 333 feet or 101.5 meters.
