It was conceptualized and designed by the exceptional Beverley Lear of the United Kingdom and subsequently created by the Forest Service of Northern Ireland, in collaboration with members of the public.

The area of the hedge maze totaled a enormous an eleven thousand two hundred and fifteen square meter or 2.771 acres. It’s path length was a sum total of 3.515 kilometers or 2.184 miles.

It was opened to the public on the twelfth of September,2001.
