Designed and built by Skip Solberg and
Jay Francis the Texas Magnum, the world's longest slide rule made it's first
public appearance on February 28, 2001 in the Lockeed-Martin Aircraft Assembly
Facility at Air Force Plant 4 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Texas Magnum measures 350 feet 6 1/2 inches long
and weighs about 300 pounds, long enough to slide past the previous record of
323 feet 9 1/2 inches and rule when it comes to long slide rules.
