What is the world's longest time hanging on Roman rings?
Ever seen those strange loops hanging
ominously down from a gym structure? They’re called roman rings and hanging from
them not only requires great strength but great concentration and focus as well.
Throw into that mix the fact that there are technical positions that are very
difficult to achieve and it becomes quite easy to see why this is one gymnastics
routine that isn’t child’s play! And to make it even more of a challenge, try
setting the world record for the longest time hanging from them!
Aratak Grigoyan from Yerevan, Armania is one
gymnast that possesses the talent to not only perform well on the roman rings
but also set the world record for the longest time suspended from them! Aratak
Grigoyan set the world record for the longest time hanging from roman rings on
April 25, 2003 when he achieved a proper azaryas cross position and held it for
22.9 seconds. The record was set at the Yerevan State Physical Culture
University in Armania.
