Downs Golf Course
Chocolay has a reserve 1/2 mile or so which it can add to
the length of this hole if it ever loses it ranking of the longest hole ever.
February 27, 2009
Chocolay Downs was donated to Northern Michigan
University, and they renamed the golf course to NMU Golf Course. On top of that
they redesigned the 6th hole, cutting it by more than half to a mere 440 yards.
The new record holder for the
world's longest golf hole is Satsuki Golf Club in Sano, Japan with their 7th
hole, a par 7, covering a foot aching 964 yards.
