The International Federation of
Competitive Eating is the overseeing body for the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating
Contest.
The
International Federation of Competitive Eating does have a rule book for hot dog
eating but to keep it simple, basically you eat as many hot dogs as you can in
12 minutes with throwing any up.
The record for the most hot dogs eaten and kept down
was set in 2006 by Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi.
Takeru Kobayashi averaged eating a hot dog every 13.4
seconds, finishing after 12 minutes with a total of 53 3/4 hot dogs eaten.
