What was the most wins by a goalie in a single season in the NHL?

Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils holds the single season NHL record for the most wins, winning 48 games during the 2006-07 season but there is a catch.

With the overtime and shootout rules it meant that there were no ties, all games had a decision which helped Martin Brodeur accomplish this feat.

In our opinion Bernie Parent has the best win record for a single season, during the 1973-74 season with the Philadelphia Flyers Bernie Parent appeared in 73 games recording 47 wins, 13 losses and 12 ties.

Out of the 73 games Bernie Parent played 60 were not ties and he won 78.33% of them which means that at that rate he would have won another 9.4 games and rounding down, that works out to 56 wins for the season.

Meanwhile Martin Brodeur's winning percentage was a mere 61.5%.

During the 2006-07 season Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks tied Bernie Parent's record, registering 47 wins as well. Roberto Luongo played in only 76 games so his winning percentage was a bit better than Martin Brodeur's, but at 61.8% still well short of that posted by Bernie Parent.
