What was the most simultaneous games of chess ever
played?
The game of chess can be very
intense. Players take the game very seriously as they strategize as to what
their next move will be, playing out every scenario in their head.
The only thing that could make it
more intense is to have 26,892 players creating these strategies in their heads
all at the very same time! That’s exactly what took place on October 21, 2006
when they set the record for the most simultaneous games of chess being played
at the same time, in the same location. 13,446 games were played in Mexico City,
Mexico.
