Who was the second Vice President of the United States?
Thomas Jefferson was a fascinating
figure in history. He is mostly known for serving as the third President of the
United States but before this, he also served as the Vice President of the
United States and before even that he served in the Cabinet.
While he was a Cabinet member, he had heated arguments
with John Adams and Alexander Hamilton. The conflict between them was so great
that Jefferson felt that he had to resign from Cabinet and establish the
Democrat-republican party. This caused tension between Jefferson and Adams to
increase even further.
Then in 1796 Jefferson ran for the
position of President but lost to John Adams, which automatically placed
Jefferson as his Vice President. During the entire time that they were both in
office, they only met in person once and that was on a street. After that, the
two did not meet again or even speak to each other the entire time they were in
