What was the world's second Stephen King Book?
With just over fifty novels and
hundreds of published works, it can be difficult to remember back to Stephen
King’s second published novel. It was, in fact, ‘Salem’s Lot and it was
published in 1975.
King had originally called the
book Second Coming and he then changed it to Jerusalem’s Lot. Doubleday, who was
going to publish the book, thought that this title was far too religious and so
they shortened it to the version it is today.
Like most of his novels, ‘Salem’s Lot was a huge
success for King and was made into a mini-series for television originally in
1979 and then again in 2004. The BBC also picked it up as part of a seven-part
radio play in 1995.
