WORLD'S SECOND MOON LANDING
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
When was the second moon landing?
Even though Apollo 11 successfully
landed on the Moon on July 16, 1969, Apollo 12, the back up mission, was still a
go.
Apollo 14 launched
on November 12, 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Just 36.5 seconds
after lift-off Apollo 12 was struck by lightning and Mission Control lost the
telemetry feeds from the spacecraft for several seconds. They did get them back
and the mission was not aborted.
On November 19, 1969 Charles Conrad, Jr. and Alan L.
Bean landed on the Moon making the Apollo 12 mission the second mission to
record a manned Moon landing.
In all Charles Conrad, Jr. and Alan L. Bean spent 31
hours, 31 minutes and 11.6 seconds on the lunar surface.
