What was the world's second Star Trek Movie?

The second Star Trek movie was Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan and it was actually a sequel to one of the television show’s episodes titled “Spaced Seed.” In the movie, Khan, who is actually a result of scientific advancements, is a human that is stronger, better, and faster than any other humans on earth, or on the starship, U.S.S. Enterprise. Khan returns to take revenge on those who have placed him in exile for the last 15 years, including Captain James T. Kirk, commander of the Enterprise. But Khan comes back not only to seek revenge, he is also trying to obtain a terraforming device, which will change any planet’s atmosphere to mimic that of Earth’s, and because it is unstable, the Enterprise crew tries to stop him.

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan set a world record on its first day of release, which was June 4, 1982, for the highest-grossing movie on the first day of release. The box office totals for that first day was a whopping 70 million dollars. Although some critics stated that the cast was too old and the equipment too outdated, Wrath of Khan brought a renewed interest in the entire Star Trek series, both film and television, and is considered to be one of the greatest Star Trek movies ever made.
