What is the world's smallest breed of cat?
The Singapura, which gets its name
from Singapore, is the world’s smallest breed of cat. Singapura is the Malaysian
word for Singapore.
It is believed that this breed
came from the streets of Singapore, thus the origin of their name.
The female Singapura is most of
the time smaller than the male. They have unusually large eyes, which are set
close together. This breed of cat is slow to develop and is not at it's full size
until it reaches 15 to 24 months of age.
Female Singapura normally weigh around 5 to 6 pounds
and the males weigh around 6 to 8 pounds.
