The Maui Dolphin or Hectors
Dolphin is the smallest dolphin in the world.
However, do not let their name
fool you; they do not live in Hawaii. The Maui Dolphin calls New Zealand home.
The female Maui Dolphin grows to
around 1.7 meters and weighs up to 50 kg while the male are a bit smaller and
weigh a bit less.
The Maui dolphins are rare with only around 150
left, which has given them their classification as “critically endangered”.
