The iPod shuffle was introduced by Apple Computer at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 11, 2005 and was the smallest iPod made, measuring 3.3" H x .98" W x .33" D and weighing 0.73 ounces.

On September 12, 2006 Apple released the second generation iPod shuffle, almost have the size of the first generation iPod shuffle at 1.62" H x 1.07" 0.41" D and weighing 0.55 ounces.
