WORLD'S SMALLEST KNOWN OBJECT
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What is the world's smallest known object?

The atom which long held the title of the world's smallest known object is10-8 cm or 0.1 nm in diameter.

The electron has a diameter of less than 10-16 cm or 0.000000000001 mm.

Now quarks are by far smaller, so small that their diameter cannot be measured, but they are confined to the innards of protons and neutron and thus not 'free' objects.

If you scaled an atom to be 500 miles in diameter the quark would be about this big: o
