What is the world's smallest bat?

There are over one thousand different species of bats all over the world.

The Philippines have around 56 species all by themselves and also have the smallest known to man, in the world.

The smallest bat known today is the Philippine Bamboo Bat.

This bat belongs to the Vespertilionid family.

This tiny little bat is only about 4 centimeters long and has a wingspan of 15 centimeters. It weighs right around 1.5 grams or 1/20 of an ounce.
