What is the world's smallest bear?

The smallest bear in the world is the Sun Bear or as it is commonly called the Malayan Bear. This adorable looking bear got its name for the white and yellow markings that are found his/her chest. Many people believed that the mark represented the rising sun. The Sun bear grows to about 1.2 meters and only weighs around 40 kilos.

These bears build their nests in trees, spend the entire day their sunbathing and sleeping and hunt at night. In 1978, the Sun Bear was included in the red list of endangered species.
