What is the world's smallest bird egg?


As far as any one can tell, the smallest bird egg in the world was laid on October 5, 1998 by a posture canary of the German Crested variety. The tiny egg measured .275 inches in length or 7 mm, was .2 inches in diameter or 5.25 mm, and only weighed .0009 ounces or .027 g.
