What is the world's smallest crested penguin?
The smallest crested penguin is
the Rockhopper penguin.
Rockhopper penguins can be found on the islands in the Antarctic region and the
biggest population is found on Falkland Islands. It is believed that there are
around 3 million breeding pairs in this area.
Rockhoppers are normally 18 to 23
inches tall or 45 to 58 centimeters, weigh between 5 and 8 pounds or 2 to 3
kilograms.
They received
their name because they hop over crevices and rocks along the shoreline.
