There are many old wives tales that apply to the flu and cold season, yet most of them are not a reliable source of information. One of the worst old wives tales that people still believe in is the idea that you should sweat a cold out. While exercise isnít really bad for a cold, itís not really good either. Many people believe this old wives tale and will put on their warmest clothes and go for a run while sick.

This is actually not a good idea, because you are losing fluids that your body needs to fully recover from the sickness. Itís a better idea to rest as much as possible, increase fluids, and maybe even refrain from exerting yourself so that your body has the energy it needs to recover so that you can feel better sooner! Use your cold as an excuse to take a break from exercise!
