HEALTH TALES
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
These old wives tales may be among
some of those you will hear most often. This is because they include what will
make you sick and what’s good for your health. And so many times, people love to
comment on what you should or shouldn’t be doing. Next time you hear one of
these, you’ll have the answer!
-
If you go outside with wet hair, you’ll catch a
cold. Viruses, not weather, cause colds. It’s more
common to get sick during winter months because these viruses thrive better
indoors due to the warmer conditions and also because the air may be more
dry indoors.
-
If you cross your eyes they’ll stay that way.
This one is just wrong. Plain and simple.
-
Cracking knuckles causes arthritis.
This one also isn’t true but knuckle cracking isn’t
really good for your health. It can cause hand swelling, weak grip strength,
and can impair hand function.
-
Too much loud noise can cause ear damage.
This one is true. As little as fifteen minutes of
excessive noise can cause temporary hearing loss. The loud noises cause the
eardrum to vibrate excessively and will damage the tiny hairs in the inner
ear. Although this is temporary and will usually pass on its own in a day or
two, constant exposure can lead to permanent damage.
