WHY BRIDES WEAR WHITE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
In ancient times, brides would
wear bright, vibrantly colored gowns on their wedding day to signify their joy
and a time of celebration. The only colors they wouldn’t wear were black, as
that signified death, and red, as that was a symbol of prostitution.
It wasn’t until Queen Victoria
wore white to signify her wealth that all brides everywhere began to start
wearing white on their wedding day.
It’s now thought the tradition of
wearing white stems from the belief that a white signifies purity and this is
why brides wear it. However, this belief didn’t begin until the 20th century.
Many brides today choose to opt once again for a bright color of dress rather
than wear white.
