BLOODY MARY
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
Bloody Mary is a game that very
brave children may sometimes choose to play when their curiosity gets the best
of them. The myth goes that if you stand in a dark bathroom with one single
candle lit, and chant, “Bloody Mary,” three times, the ghost of Bloody Mary will
appear in the mirror. However, you have to be more than just an adventurous
ghost hunter to try this trick. It’s said that if Bloody Mary should appear, any
number of terrible things may happen to you. These include: your eyes being
ripped out and scarring suddenly appearing on your face, dropping dead on the
spot only to be found with claw marks all over your body, or being pulled into
the mirror to spend eternity with Bloody Mary’s ghost. This story is a bit of
actual fact mixed with a bit of vivid imaginations over the years.
One of the stories says that Mary Worth was a witch
that lived over a century ago and that was very serious about the black arts.
Like all black magic dabblers back in the day, when she was exposed, she was put
to death. Another story says that she was killed in a terrible car accident that
left her horribly scarred just before she died. When she appears, it’s thought
that she appears with her facial deformities as well. The name just as the
stories, are pieces of different stories. Mary I was the Queen of England and
Mary Tudor was the queen during the Tudor period and was also known as “Bloody
Mary.” She was given this nickname after she would behead, torture, and kill
people for very small crimes. It was known that Bloody Mary was barren and for
this reason, some people who like to make things very exciting during the
chanting of her name will also add, “I stole your baby.”
Mary Worth was known to be a witch that was
executed during the Salem Witch Trials and because these witches were usually
burned at the stake, this is said to be the reason for her disfigurement.
Somehow, another woman, who was not even named Mary, became the subject of this
tale. This woman was Elizabeth Bathory, or Countess Dracula. She was of
Hungarian background and was also a member of the royal family. She would kill
young girls and bathe in their blood so that she would always remain youthful.
How she became part of the Bloody Mary legend it’s not quite known but many
believe she plays a part.
