WHEN THE DOG BITES
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
There has long been an old wive's
tale about dogs that bite that says once they bite they will have a taste for
blood, and will continue to bite. This old wives tale has changed the way many
people deal with their dogs, or whether they keep them or not. Sadly for those
dogs, this old wives tale is not true. A dog that bites once, under certain
circumstances, may never bite again.
Of course, a dog that has bitten should be brought
to a veterinarian for some observation and even some insight into the behavior
of the dog. Most dogs do not want to bite, and will only bite out of fear or to
defend themselves, their family, or their home. Dogs that bite in these
circumstances will likely never bite again.
Contrary to the old wives tale, most dogs will never acquire a taste for blood.
There are certain dogs that do bite constantly and have no hope of
rehabilitation. But, your average family dog does not want to bite, and if they
do, it will be because they are provoked, and then you have nothing to worry
about.
