We are all guilty of placing the
broom anywhere but in the broom closet when we are done sweeping, but did you
know if the broom falls as you walk past it you are said to have bad luck?
Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be much truth to this old wives tale as most of
us have walked past a broom only to have it fall over as we pass. Usually, the
broom falls over because it was not balanced or we touched it lightly as we
walked by.
This is another old wives tale that is hard to
prove or disprove, but there are so many old wives tales associated with brooms
that are rooted in fiction that you can safely assume you are not doomed if you
knock over the broom. But, you might want to be sure you put away the broom
after sweeping, just in case!
