GOING OUT WITHOUT A COAT
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
There are many old wives tales
that exist about colds and how we get one.
One that helped us keep our coats
on when we were kids was the old wives tale that says if one stays out in the
cold without a coat that they will invariably catch pneumonia. This is one of
those well-known old wives tales that has very little truth to it, but is still
spread today by parents that do not want their children to get sick.
The fact is, that pneumonia is not
caused by the cold, it is caused by bacteria that you cannot catch simply
because you are out in the cold without a coat. While dry, cold air makes one
more susceptible to colds and illness, simply standing out in the cold without a
coat will not make you get pneumonia!
So, if you have to run out in the
cold without your coat, no worries!
