Sony PlayStation 3 Release

SONY PLAYSTATION 3 RELEASE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

PS3 Madness

The PS3 was released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, and on November 17, 2006 in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong and Taiwan, but those in Europe and Australasia will have to wait till March 2007

The release in the US saw some complete madness with many people spending many days camping out in line to get one.

There were an expected 400,000 units to be released in the US but due to problems only about half made it to the stores and as a result those that pre-ordered the PS3 may be out of luck.

This proved to be quite the mess as many that had placed deposits for pre-order sold their PS3 on eBay with prices going as high as $10,000.00 shortly after the release, but stabilizing at $2000.00 to $2,500.00 the next day, but many did not get their PS3 to fill their order.

In Putnam, Connecticut 2 men tried to rob people in line, but one man refused to surrender his wallet and was shot.

A WAL-MART IN Southern California was temporally closed due to fears of injury if the store was opened to let people get a PS3.

Though most line ups were quite civil, there were numerous instance of people being injured in the stampede as the doors were open and people raced to the electronics department.

If you remember the original iPod smashing and the subsequent Xbox 360 clubbing by Ben Lovatt and Victor Moukhortov of Toronto, Canada, you'll be happy to know that they got their hands on 20-gigabyte unit and a 60-gigabyte, taking the 20-gigabyte unit outside to where a crowd was gathered and smashing it in front of them.

A quote from one of those witnessing the PS2 destruction: 'What idiots!'

The Sony Playstation 3 release was truly a spectacle that will be debated in psychology classes worldwide for a long time to come.
