Today, the search is on for the new Seven Wonders of the World since the only ones remaining are the Egyptian pyramids.

The list has been compiled over the years with over 200 nominations coming in from around the world. Today, the list has been narrowed down to 21 and everyone has a chance to vote by calling 011-372-541-11738 or 011-423-663-900299. 

The seven winners will be announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The list includes:

  • The ruins of the Parthenon in Acropolis, Greece
  • The Palace and Citadel in Alhambra, Spain
  • The archaeological site of the capital of the Khmer Empire in Angkor, Cambodia
  • Christ the Redeemer Stature on Mount Corcovado in Brazil
  • Moasis, large stone busts from the prehistoric Rapanui culture on Easter Island, Chile
  • The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France
  • The Great Wall of China
  • The Church of the Holy Wisdom in Hagia Sophia, Turkey
  • Kiyomizu Temple in Kiyomizu, Japan
  • Kremlin and St. Basil’s Cathedral in Russia
  • Machu Picchu in Peru
  • Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany
  • The ancient city of Petra in Jordan
  • The Pyramids at Chichen Itza, Mexico
  • The Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
  • The Statue of Liberty, New York, USA
  • Stonehenge in Great Britain
  • The Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia
  • The Taj Mahal in India
  • The Great Mosque in Timbuktu, Mali, West Africa
