The Bear Lake Monster

At one time many years ago in Utah in Bear Lake, there was a monster. This monster was described as being around 90 feet long with ears that stuck out from the side of its head with a very large mouth that could swallow a man. As the legend states if the Bear Lake monster came upon land it was very slow with small legs however, in the water it was faster than a galloping horse.

One evening a hunter that was quite good with his rifle took a shot at the Bear Lake Monster one evening and did not even hit the thing one time. This caused the hunter to run away as he never missed his game. He told a story that the monster ate his rifle.

The monster disappeared, as some believe, however, the tale is not that it disappeared but Pecos Bill got a hold of it. As the legend goes, Pecos Bill heard about this Bear Lake Monster and wanted to see it for himself. He bet some of the cowpokes in the area that he could wrestle that monster until it said uncle. Pecos Bill got into the lake and began wrestling with the Bear Lake Monster. The match went on for days, and created a hurricane around the entire Lake. Bill finally had his fill and flung the monster around the world. It landed in Loch Ness and this is where it remains today.

Some say, that the Bear Lake monster is still in Bear Lake and you should watch out if you ever go swimming.
