The Amazing Race was created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster and made it's debut on CBS on September 05, 2001.

The premise of The Amazing Race is a bunch of teams of two that race around the world with the last team of each leg being eliminated until only one team is left, winning $1,000,000.00 USD.

NOTE: The Amazing Race 8 was the family edition and teams were made up of four family members.

The first Amazing Race was won by Rob Frisbee & Brennan Swain.

NOTE: The Amazing Race has won multiple Emmy Awards.
